At Dr. Kerby Bruce and Associates, our Charlottetown dentists use dental bridges to fill gaps left by missing teeth and restore your smile.
What is a Bridge?
A dental bridge is a natural-looking restoration that 'bridges' a gap of missing teeth in your mouth.
Made up of one or more artificial teeth, the bridge is affixed to the teeth on either side of the gap to fill the space.
A bridge helps to prevent your other teeth from shifting positions to fill the space, which could lead to more serious dental issues including gum disease.
The Bridge Procedure in Charlottetown
It typically takes 2 appointments to complete the bridge procedure. At the first appointment, your dentist will clean and re-contour your teeth. They will then take impressions and have those sent to a specialized dental lab to begin creating your new dental bridge.
Once it's ready, you will have a second appointment where your dentist will place your dental bridge by permanently bonding it to your existing natural teeth, implants, or crowns that have been placed for this purpose.
Dental Bridges in Charlottetown: The Benefits
A bridge is a custom made dental restoration, that is created in a dental laboratory. Each dental bridge is customized to fit a patient's individual mouth. The precise fit gives your teeth a smooth, natural look while being comfortable for you.
Bridges can help restore the natural contour of your teeth, as well as the bite between upper and lower teeth.
Your general oral health, and your smile, can be restored thanks to a bridge.
